Listening and Drawing

I got a chance to sit at the computer tonight, after finishing my voting ballot. I listened to This American Life and doodled this. It had nothing to do with the topic, episode called Ground Game, but it is what came out. I was suppose to work on some holiday themes, but obviously that didn't happen. :)

Just beautiful...

this wonderful world is. I can get pretty consumed and down about the state of the world, especially when I am reading the news as much as I am these days. But one thing that has helped keep my spirits up is my biking to work during the week. Being outside of a car slows me down and opens me up to seeing things I normally wouldn't, like little animals scampering about and getting into all sorts of mischief, the nods and smiles to other bikers along the way, and being able to take in a full appreciation of the beautiful fall weather this year. I am in love with the sun coming through the light fog and thinning trees in the morning and then the afternoon brings vibrant blue skies and unbelievable bursts of colors from all the trees and plants.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Don't forget to slow down and enjoy this gorgeous season.



With the weather being so nice I met C and dog at the dog park after work on Friday. It was a beautiful day and a nice bike ride there - a different route than normal which is always fun.


I took a walk on a break and gathered some leaves and took some photos. Aaah. :)



What more can be said - *high five* to Mother Nature! :)

Friendly Bear

I doodled this cute guy on my To Do list at work today. I created it in Photoshop only, I usually use Illustrator, but want to keep experimenting now that I am getting more comfortable with the pen and tablet.

Picked up my copy of MS Holiday issue today, using the $2 off coupon they emailed me. yay! I'm off to crawl into bed for the night and start getting the holiday ideas brewing. Good night!

Reindeer in Sleigh

I have been slacking on my personal projects and blogging lately. I am hoping that I will get back on a schedule starting this weekend. I have many things brewing and I just need to start focusing my energy (and follow through) to knock them out.

This is an illustration I got to do at work this week. I'm very happy that my day job is allowing me to illustrate more. It makes for a fun day at work!

Loving Pandora

The last few weeks I have been listening to music on Pandora and I am so loving it. It is great to tell it what music you like and it will select others that go with that type of music. You can rate it so it removes and adds other music from your feedback. I am finding all sorts of great new bands that I've never heard of. You will love having all sorts of personal stations to listen to while you work, clean, draw, etc. - a station whatever your mood may be.

I worked on a new banner most tonight, see it?

I wanted to post some thing more, so I went looking through my iphoto for something interesting to share and this cracked me up when I saw it. C actually took the photo, so it got uploaded and I didn't really notice it. Ollie (aka monster in a cute suit) is the jumper in the picture and Zeke (aka Ollie's idol) hoping he knocks the bug down for him. This month we are going on a year of having these two crazies in our lives. They are both a year and a half roughly. Pets are so wonderful.

Finally Bloomed

I've had a nice long weekend. I took Friday off and enjoyed a slow paced day. The rest of the weekend was about the same.

This sweet plant, I've completely forgotten what kind of plant it is, has finally bloomed this last week and I love it. It cheered me up when I saw the pink and yellow. Perfect.

I hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend like I did. You deserve it!

Concert Choir Illustrations

I mentioned I was working on a big project a few weeks ago. I finally had a chance to share the completed illustrations. It was nice to get to spread my wings at work on these illustrations. There are 5 different concert choir performances. I'm looking forward to seeing a few of the shows - especially First Walpurgis Night.
