Wicked Weekend!

Earlier this week, I carved this cutie pumpkin at the design studio I work at most days. I made some Kit Kat Rice Krispie treats (yum!) and brought them in to share with my co-workers for the festivities. As I was leaving on Friday I grabbed her up (her name is Penny the Pumpkin) so I could light her up for the Halloween weekend. I have always been a bit of a terrible pumpkin carver and cringed the task. But honestly this is probably my best pumpkin carving ever, I am super proud and must share with you :)

Also, my illustrated recipe submission for They Draw and Cook site went up today! Woop! I'm so excited to see it up on the blog amongst a wonderful collection of illustrations. Salli and Nate have put together such a fantastic project and boy has it grown. Check it out!

Monkeying Around

I had a busy day working on some custom projects, running morning errands, planting a few shrubs and making plans. I decided to just relax and bring a doodle from a piece of scrap paper to life. Now off to get some ZZzz's!

Playing With Light - Love it!

Playing with light - Mon ami le robot from Cube Creative on Vimeo.

I am an animation nut! I love when I come across a short film that just brings happiness to my gooey heart. Yep, my heart is totally gooey for endearing characters, awesome imagery, and nice music, all balled up into a wonderful piece of art like this one.

I found this over at Share Some Candy and thought I would share with my blogging pals :)

Everything is Going to Be All Right

This is a great reminder for us all when dealing with our day-to-day-self-doubt stressed craziness. I saw this over at Design is Mine blog and had to share it. This awesome print is by Eva Juliet and available in her Etsy shop. She has quite a few great typographic prints and some very sweet illustration prints, like the one below.

This is another great one I saw and made me think of one of my dearest friends.

Illustration Friday - Transportation

I am an avid biker. I use it as my main mode of transportation and ride to work every day. With the winter coming I am beginning to dread having to put the bike away for a few months. But we aren't quite there yet so I am going to ride for as long as I can this fall.

This is my submission for this week's Illustration Friday.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Enjoy your day!

The Shoebox Blog

I've been following the Shoebox blog and it cracks me up. Honestly, I didn't read it much when I first started following, but would look at the pictures and then move on through. Happily, I finally slow down enough to read it and found it to be quite funny and just up my sarcastic, goofy, and witty alley.

It's definitely worth checking out for a chuckle. Enjoy!

Sketchbook Project - One

I decided to join in the Sketchbook Project fun. I love the process of drawing freely in my sketchbook but I rarely ever show it to people. Normally, I like to sketch up ideas and then get them all cleaned up digitally before showing them. This is a good challenge for me.

My topic is: ... you'd be home by now.

This is my first page in the book.

My Recipe for They Draw and Cook Blog

After much sketching, deciding, coloring changing and nit-picking, I finally finished my They Draw and Cook submission tonight. Phew! Feels good and I am very happy with how it turned out. Ahh, time to kick back for the rest of the evening.

This is one of my all time favorite cookie recipes. Mmm, I love oatmeal cookies with any additions or even just plain. Mm yum!

Definitely check out the site. There are so many amazing artist's submitting recipe art.

Illustration Friday - Beneath

Here is my submission for this weeks Illustration Friday.

As soon as I heard the topic was "beneath" I thought of under water creatures. I have a deep fascination and slight fear - I blame JAWS for this phobia - with all that lives in the ocean. But this octopus looks too sweet to be scary, right?

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.
