Happy Kid!

My computer has been acting up on me for the last month... grr! I took it in to the shop a few weeks back. We are hopefully it just needs a new power supply unit. Think good thoughts that is ALL it will take to get my little mac up and running again.

So to forget my stresses I draw happy things, like this little happy kid. Yep, all cheered up!

January Cobwebs

I think it is time to clean off the cobwebs and start blogging again. The time away has been very helpful for my mind and spirit. I needed to be reminded why I started my blog and clear my mind of those pesky negative voices.

January was a wonderful month. The inauguration of our new president, Barack Obama, was a beautiful and historic day for America and the world. I do not envy his job, but finally feel like we have someone that I can get behind and feel hopeful for a brighter future.

January also is my birthday and C's too. We have one day between our birthdays that we call "middle day" and it is the big celebration day. I made this chocolate cake for us - it was way Yum!

Hello!

Hello! Happy New Year! I hope everyone is feeling refreshed and inspired this new year. I know I have been reflecting on last year and on what I want to do with my art, crafts, house, activites and well my life in general. I am still mulling a few things over and will be taking a small break from my blog until I can have that figured out. Especially since my blog is one thing I am unsure of in the new year. I feel like I am doing something wrong and have lost my way with what I wanted my blog and art to be for me. It is all a frame of mind, I just need a little tweaking and the new year always inspires me to look at what I want to change. Change is good.

All the best for 2009!

Elephant + Dog

We can all learn a lot from these two sweet animals.

You might need a tissue for this one - so heart-warming.

Illustration Friday - Clandestine

William's vast knowledge of vampires, demons, ghouls, and slayers had nothing to do with being a goth geek, but more about his clandestine personality.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thanks for visiting.

New Pillow :)

We have some old solid colored pillows that just aren't my style anymore and they were starting to look a bit tattered. I decided I  wanted something bright and unique. With that in mind, I finally got up the determination to have a go at making a Log Cabin patchwork pillow cover. After a bunch of researching on the internet - so many different versions out there - I settled down with what I needed to do. I had a few mismeasurements, but I was able to make up for it by adding the final side borders.  I added the velcro to keep the back closed nicely. I'm very happy with how it turned out.

The final packs

I hope everyone is having a very merry christmas and enjoying the holiday season!

I wanted to show the final card give-away packages that I sent out a couple weeks ago. The ladies should both have received their packages by now, so no ruined surprises. I had a lot of fun making the gift tags, bookmarks and packaging for this.

Also, I just finished a sewing project and can't wait to share the photos tomorrow. I tried taking pictures this evening, but the lighting is horrible. I wish I could have a full on lighted studio for taking photos - maybe some day.
