21 of 21 - Sheep

I made it!

I don't know if I did exactly what I was suppose to for this challenge, but I had a lot of fun and it was great to see all the other folks work. I created this illustration completely in Photoshop, which isn't my normal way. Usually I like to use illustrator and a little Photoshop. I like it.

This is a character I drew in my sketchbook last night, I thought I would get it on the computer.

I'm going to use it for a bookmark.

Green Bee Tips

I have been meaning to create a little "green" icon for my side bar and for whenever I want to share some green knowledge, sites, and products. These are a few that I wanted to share today.

50 Ways to Help
I love this page - the icons are wonderful and the clean design just appeals to me overall. Great tips!

The Green Guide
This site is one of the sections on the National Geographic web site. It is very informative site that gives green living tips, product reviews and environmental health news.

The Green Guide - What you should know about plastics

Rethink Design
Great information for the designer and their projects.

I hope you find these helpful. I will start updating my side bar with links with future links for easy access.

This is also my illustration for 21 day creative challenge - 18 of 21.

I tried two styles with the line work for this illustration. Anyone like one or the other more?

Illustration Friday - Wide

My take for IF topic "Wide" . Sometimes you have to open wide to get that perfect combination of frosting and cake - though most the time I like to eat the bottom cake part and save the frosting part for last. Okay, now I want a cupcake...

The scanned in sketch from my book. (13 of 21)

Thanks for visiting :)

Day 12 of 21 - Boy Walking Dog

#12 of 21.

I don't draw enough males in my illustrations, so made a point to draw a boy walking his dog for this one.

Illustration Friday - Electricity

There is something so amazing about getting natural electricity from the sun, not to mention, wind and water.. good stuff. The other drawing I did for this was Totally Solar Electricity - I decided to post the rough from my sketchbook too - a bit dorky, but hey, what can I say I'm a kid of the 80's. My color scheme is a bit more 70's in this piece though.

Thanks for visiting :)

These are also my #10 of 21 creative challenge.

Day 9 - Quick Draws

I didn't have much time today - though I did create several designs for work and a freelance project that I wanted to finish up tonight. So I decided I would scan in some doodles that I really liked from my sketch book - I definitely want to make something with the girl in the upper right.

Day 8 - Free Draw

Day 7 - Angle Pets

Tonight I decided to try making characters using the same similar shape to create it. I really enjoyed it and like the outcome. I think I will make digital versions of these at some point.

Day 6 of 21

I was lacking inspiration when I started to work on my drawings. I looked around my desk and decided I would use something on my desk to create the shape and then build from that. I used a travel size Purell Bottle for the body shape on this one. I liked it and definitely helped me have a starting point for tonight.

This was the first drawing that came in the start of my free drawing. I need to practice on drawing larger at some point. This drawing is about 4" x 4" - I try and draw larger but then usually go right back to small.

Illustration Friday - Seed

This is a fun topic - so many ways you can take it. Being that I am in the planting craze right now, I had to do something like this.

Thanks for visiting and for any comments - I enjoy them all! :)

This is also my 3 of 21 for the 21 Day Challenge.

Day 2 of 21

Forgive my boring titles, I'm terrible with coming up with them for my drawings and even my blog posts. SoI think I will keep it simple, unless I am struck with a name.

Part of my first drawings is getting myself to draw whatever comes to mind, but also to not rely on an pencil and eraser - so I am using my Hi-Tec-C pens and when I mess up I try to find a way to make it work and not start over. It's fun. Notice the cast/boot she is has on her left leg.. yah I was going for something else, but decide the cast/boot added even more mystery - so I tell myself :) hah

Side note: listened to The Cure - Mixed Up during this drawing session.

Day 1 of 21 - Free Draw

I am participating in the 21 Day Creative Challenge started by Gina Perry. There are so many other great illustrators participating, don't miss visiting their blogs. You will surely be inspired. I'm going to try and have a list on my side bar of them.. this weekend should allow me some time to do that.

I am still figuring out exactly what I will be trying to work on. I know one thing is to push my imagination a bit and just listen to music and draw for 15-30 minutes. If I can color it before posting that will be great, but if I can't I am going to post what I did as is.

I did this drawing while listening to some Eddie Vedder and I must say it felt good. So relaxing to just let myself flow. I'm sure most of them won't make much sense or have a concept behind them - I'm so trained to have concepts and reasons for my designs/illustrations - it feels good to just let go and draw.
(Small note: I had this almost completely colored and when I went to save it crashed! GAH! Needless to say, I was crushed. I shook it off and decided to just show it without the colored version.)
