Happy Friday!

I got a nice bundle of books today. Just in time for the long weekend. I am so excited to look through all of these. I have been spending so much time working on the computer lately that it will be nice to get on some sewing projects.

mm lots of new crafty books makes Kelly a happy girl.

You can get them at Amazon or your local bookshop. So far Crafter's companion has been very interesting - learning about other crafters and what makes them tick is very cool.

Illustration Friday - Visitors

These are my kind of visitors! I absolutely love watching all the birds come to my front yard bird feeder. When they don't come around for a bit and then start showing up it really cheers me up to see them visiting again.

I did this illustration for a custom made card that a friend asked me to do. I thought it was perfect for Illustration Friday.

Thanks for popping in. :)

Illustration Friday - Captain

I had to resist the urge to draw a bowl of Captain Crunch – how boring would that have been! ha! I loved that cereal as a kid - mom didn't buy it too often. Even the abuse on the roof of my mouth never could take away the joy of the sugary deliciousness. So instead, here is Capn' Max enjoying a nice day from above and secretly thinking about having a bowl of Capn' Crunch. :)

Congrats to Big Sister!

My sister got married this weekend to a very kind man. I wish them both the best. I wish I could've been there — at least to tell stories of how mean she was to me as kids! :) Love you Sandy!

Here is the card I made for them.

Illustration Friday - Emergency

Not my most developed piece, but I wanted to get something posted this week. It does make me smile and I can't help but make the sound in my head (and even outloud while I was drawing it). I hope you can hear the siren sound I was going for.

Thanks for visiting :)

Anytime I see one

... it makes me happy anytime. The simple and beautiful daisy flower. On our walks lately I have carried my camera for future project reference - this is one of the extras. :)

I haven't had much time to draw and work on my computer at home. It's been busy the last few weeks and then a few lazy days. But lots of walking, bike riding and getting fit - so hard to get it all done sometimes.

Keep checking back, I've got some great things brewing, just finding the time is the trick.

It's about time!

Well I have been meaning to put something up in this window to give us a bit of privacy. I had the hardest time deciding exactly what I wanted there. I didn't want something to block out the light completely, but I wanted whatever material to obscure the view. So when I was at the fabric store this weekend I was toying around with burlap for curtains in the bedroom, but decided it would be perfect for this window. I'm very happy with it. Yaya, privacy! (not that we get many visitors - such loners!)

MP3 Zen Case

I have been taking a small break from drawing (on the computer) the last week. I was feeling a bit overwhelmed with a crazy work schedule and the awful heat - I'm such a wuss when it comes to hot weather. So to lighten up a bit I'm just kicking back for a week and getting outside when the weather cools down. It's been nice.

I thought I would post something I made a few weeks back for my Zen player. I gave my self a real doozie of a headache hammering the snaps in. Ha! But I was very pleased with how it turned out.

The velcro strap's dual purpose is to hold the USB wire (for easy download/uploading) and keep the Zen tucked away in its fold. The other side holds the additional attachment for the Zen. I added some stuffing between the felt and fabric to really give it some cushioning (I broke my last one, due to a crappy case that did nothing for protection). It folds in half, snaps and fits perfectly in my bag!

Thanks for visiting and more illustrations to come soon!
