Motown State of Mind Project

I was contacted about a month ago to create artwork for an event in Detroit. They had seen the Motown piece I did for the Eugene Concert Choir, a few years ago in this post and wanted something in the same style/feel. It was a pleasure working with them and knowing they are happy with the end artwork. Yay!

Illustration Friday - Transportation

I am an avid biker. I use it as my main mode of transportation and ride to work every day. With the winter coming I am beginning to dread having to put the bike away for a few months. But we aren't quite there yet so I am going to ride for as long as I can this fall.

This is my submission for this week's Illustration Friday.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.

Enjoy your day!

Sketchbook Project - One

I decided to join in the Sketchbook Project fun. I love the process of drawing freely in my sketchbook but I rarely ever show it to people. Normally, I like to sketch up ideas and then get them all cleaned up digitally before showing them. This is a good challenge for me.

My topic is: ... you'd be home by now.

This is my first page in the book.

My Recipe for They Draw and Cook Blog

After much sketching, deciding, coloring changing and nit-picking, I finally finished my They Draw and Cook submission tonight. Phew! Feels good and I am very happy with how it turned out. Ahh, time to kick back for the rest of the evening.

This is one of my all time favorite cookie recipes. Mmm, I love oatmeal cookies with any additions or even just plain. Mm yum!

Definitely check out the site. There are so many amazing artist's submitting recipe art.

I had a nice day today. I got lots done and this was one of them. I've had these guys in my sketchbook for a long time and had a request for a farm animals clip art set this evening so I was inspired to bring them to life! I am so happy that I did. :)

Father's Day Art Sets

I had such a productive Wednesday working from home day! Starting with aiding a couple sweet robins to fight off an evil crow from getting their little eggs. As well as seeing a couple of squirrels making whoopie in the trees. Yep, who needs cable when I have this type of free entertainment :)

But after that fun distraction I got down to my To-Do List. Father's Day art was the top of my list and here they are to share with you.

Petit Reve

A few weeks ago I received these two lovely prints in the mail from the super talented Sarah. I finally got some frames and the weather semi-cooperated (bright cloudy day instead of dreary dark rainy day) so I could take a photo.

A few months back, Sarah opened an Etsy shop - Petit Reve - to help save money for her daughter, Michel, to take a trip to France. Both, Sarah and Michel, create the art which makes for a wonderful variety and awesome style. I had a super hard time picking only two! Sarah has recently added brooches to her products and they are super cute!

Sir Hedgefield Hedge Hog just makes me smile.

If you have a need for some awesome wall art (who doesn't, right!?) check out her Petit Reve Etsy shop.

New! Skulls and Hearts Clip Art Set

I recently asked one of my friends what her son and daughter are nutty about these days. She gave me a wonderful list that is going to be a great inspiration for my future clip art sets.

This set is inspired by her daughter's love of spunky skulls.

Spring Flowers and Lady Bug

Yay, Friday. Well, actually I'm not feeling too "yay!" - I've gone and caught a cold. I stayed home from work today and slept most of the day away. I'm hoping to be on the mend and back at 100% very soon *fingers crossed*. I'm doing my best to make myself rest and not feel like I should be up and doing things.

This is an illustration I worked on for a greeting card coupon. It's only a part of what I used but thought it was happy and springy to share tonight to lift my spirits and yours (if needed!).

Enjoy the weekend!

Pink Sheep

It has been a wonderful Saturday. For you too? I have finished quite a few projects this week and having a moment to play a bit. I will have a new custom invitation to share soon. It's really cute!

This is a little sheep I did while playing around with some knitting art sets. This would be really cute with a little message or name on the body.

More soon!

Leprechaun + Butterfly Day

I'm working on a new St. Patrick's Day theme clip art set for MyGrafico and got a little distracted with this character and kept my hand drawn style and colored it. I don't know if this style is as popular as my other vector style, but I do know, I like it!
