*Crunch*

Wow, it has been a bit since I posted. The week flew by!

I finally had a little time today to finish these cute bunnies. It started with just one bunny, then it had to multiply (you know how bunnies are) then sat as a black and white line drawing for a few weeks. Today I opened the file wondering what it was and decided it was time to add some of my favorite colors. Ta da!

Have a great weekend :)

Illustration Friday - Instinct

Instinct told them they were the unlikeliest of friends. They didn't care.

Also, does anyone know how you set sizing of images in Flickr? When I posted this from Flickr it was way big and half not visible on the page, I had to resize it in blogger. I haven't had a chance to dig into Flickr yet.

Good Start to My Morning

C makes our cereal using this recipe. It is so good. I add a banana and it is perfection. This new Orla Kiely bowl from Target is square with rounded corners that make drinking the milk so easy. I took it in to work just for my morning cereal. My previous bowl had a lip on the edge that made drinking from it so messy. And drinking the last bit of milk is simply part of the meal. Is it obvious I love cereal? :)

Regarding the picture, I've been working on becoming more comfortable using the manual settings on my camera. I'm a bit slow, but think it is worth it.

Illustration Friday - Celebrate

Aren't you?

Oh, Orla!

As many of you know Target has a new line by Orla Kiely in their stores this month. I have been excited to see all these great products on the shelves. I went on Friday and found quite a bit, though the stock had definitely been picked over a bit, I still had quite a few things I quickly put in my cart.

Her designs are outstanding. I love her color choices and graphic style. Perfect!

Enjoy the Day!

Today doesn't have to be about spending money on gifts, dining out, and candy. It's a day to feel love and share your love for your friends, family, and furry companions. Be it without a special someone or by yourself, you should embrace the day because love is a powerful emotion and we all deserve to bask in it.

Have a sweet and loving day :)

(I've been drawing these birds everywhere lately. It felt great to bring them to life digitally.)

A Brief Interuption In Our Regular Scheduled Programming...

Do you have one of these? I do. It is no fun. If you don't, please take a moment and relish in your luck. I wouldn't wish a neighbor like the above illustration on anyone. Well, I take that back, I MIGHT wish it on this neighbor - but ssshhh I didn't say that. I can only hope that Lady Karma will take care of this for me.

Now, if you DO have a neighbor like this, doesn't it just suck?! What doesn't kill ya only makes you stronger, right? Hang in there – I know I am – it has to get better.

Now, I know I normally post happy, sweet illustrations and I really do try my best to keep my chin up. But some days it can be hard. Some days I just need to vent. Today is a "some day". This has been therapeutic to let it out. Don't worry, I will be back to my shiny, happy self lickety split like. After all, it is the weekend and a sweet one at that.

Aaaaahhhh.... :)

Whole Grain Cinnamon Buns

I posted a new cinnamon bun recipe on my food blog, Tasteswell. They take a bit of rising and patience but they are so yum that it is worth it. I wish I had a better rising method for yeast recipes but it got there eventually.

Primrose

A co-worker gave me this sweet yellow primrose as a thank you for making another rice therapy bag for her. She accidentally spilled coffee on the first and it ruined the rice, luckily the cover was easy to clean. She has been using it a lot and asked if I could make another. She surprised me by giving me this and it sure has brightened my mood while I try to be patient for spring to come. I've had great feedback about those bags from everyone that received one for the holidays.

This is the post about the Rice Therapy bags. She got the pear one - it is my favorite.

The primrose inspired this cute little icon.

From Coupon to Birthday

This is an illustration I created at work yesterday for a full color coupon job. I removed the original coupon text and thought it made a great birthday card.

It makes me so happy!

Happy Kid!

My computer has been acting up on me for the last month... grr! I took it in to the shop a few weeks back. We are hopefully it just needs a new power supply unit. Think good thoughts that is ALL it will take to get my little mac up and running again.

So to forget my stresses I draw happy things, like this little happy kid. Yep, all cheered up!

January Cobwebs

I think it is time to clean off the cobwebs and start blogging again. The time away has been very helpful for my mind and spirit. I needed to be reminded why I started my blog and clear my mind of those pesky negative voices.

January was a wonderful month. The inauguration of our new president, Barack Obama, was a beautiful and historic day for America and the world. I do not envy his job, but finally feel like we have someone that I can get behind and feel hopeful for a brighter future.

January also is my birthday and C's too. We have one day between our birthdays that we call "middle day" and it is the big celebration day. I made this chocolate cake for us - it was way Yum!
