Macro Photos | 30 of 30

Yaya! I am very happy with my last photo for the 30 Day Macro Challenge put together by Karin at Orange Flower.I was a bit nervous when I started - as I always am about sharing my artwork - but found a lot of encouragement from comments via my blog and flickr that inspired me to trust myself. I really enjoyed learning, sharing, and pushing myself to look at things differently. I will continue sharing images like these - it is too fun to stop.

Thanks again for all the wonderful comments people have left on my blog and flickr they really mean the world to me. :)

The last one! I love this, especially how the countertop blue turned out.

This is an old Litehouse Salad dressing jar that I re-used to hold my Q-tips.

Illustration Friday - Wrinkles

A quick idea for this week's topic. I have always liked the wrinkles on pig's snouts.

Thanks for visiting and I look forward to reading your comments :)

Lots of green in my recent photos! But I'm definitely not complaining, all the green cheers me up. Only a few more photos left.

Eek! :)

A photo I liked.

It was a gorgeous weekend here. We went to the dog park - toting my camera along, of course - and snapped this photo.

My bird feeder. Wow, I am getting near the end of this challenge. You can see all the amazing photos at the Macro 30 Challenge flickr group.

I have been eying this fence for a while during my walks and finally decided to take a picture of it. When I was finding the right angle I noticed the Rhody flowers peeking through and was so happy I had waited and caught this image when they were in bloom - amongst the muted wood fence and subtle moss they really pop! I also really like the hardware in the fence.

I found the missing piece! :) Found this laying on the sidewalk near the flower bed I was taking photos of. It's one of my favorite shots.

I took a little walk today and got some great macro shots to share.

Happy Earth Day!

I always want to lay on a lush bed of moss like this.. nature's carpet - it is the best!

I hope everyone had a beautiful Earth day.

I don't have much time tonight to share what I wanted to on this post. But since I strongly believe every day is Earth Day I will just share them over the next few days and continually on this blog whenever I come across them.

I liked this macro photo for the angle and the reflection in the glass.

Bunny in a Skirt

A quick doodle I found on a scrap piece of paper and thought I would work on that during my lunch break at work. I am thinking of using this for a greeting card.

One of my favorite flowers - tulips remind me of my mom and my childhood.

I loved the texture of this post and the old metal letter. Which also plays into Blog Catalog's theme of the month - Letters.

My new Shinzi Katoh bag. I love close up shots of fabric and the illustration just makes me happy!

My photo assistant decided he wanted to make a cameo appearance in one of the photos. Think he did the trick? (ha!) He completely covered the monkey!

Illustration Friday - Save

Save our beautiful earth by making changes - big or small - and spread the word.

Earth Day is April 22, but really every day is earth day for all of us.

This is probably my favorite sentimental "knick knack" in my house. I have loved her and played with her since I was a little girl. She is a bell made of clay in Puerto Rico and has moved around with me many times. Her neck broke years and years ago - but with lots of love she is mended and sits proudly on my living room shelf.

A flurry of white flowers on a sunny day. I was tempted to crop out the house and sky in the background to make this photo have more direct focus, but it really lost something when I did.

A little different feel than my previous photos, but I thought it was interesting all the same.

My 2 cents: I love the gorgeous green and the sweet lady bug's complementing color. The little fuzzies (for lack of a better word) on the leaf are cool to see.

I am REALLY enjoying this project. It is a nice break from illustration – don't get me wrong I love drawing/illustrating, but it is always nice to mix it up. I might skip a few Illustration Fridays to take a break and enjoy this challenge.

Luckily, the weather has been gorgeous here, though I believe it is due to change back to our normal rainy and overcast weather. Boooo!

First photo of the Macro photo challenge. I thought this looked like shag carpet fibers up close.
