New Market tote!

I made a market tote using that new fabric I got last week. This is going to be perfect for next year's farmer's market. The strap is long enough so I can easily pull it over my head for easy carrying and filling up with the delicious veggies. Can you tell I miss the market? I sooo am.

I used this tutorial. I love how she did the tutorial and the tote is a fun, quick project. Not to mention helps me get more and more familiar with sewing.

I just found this tutorial on slip stitching a seam. I have looked at many tutorials and I still didn't get it after the 9th read over, but this tutorial finally made it all click in my brain. Phew - no more awkward and foul language needed! :)

A Super Thanks to Allan!

I am way slow on posting these pictures, but with a 4 day weekend I am getting some time to finally take pictures of a few fun things to share. A few weeks back I was clicking on through my Google Reader (next button rocks! Set yours up if you haven't yet) and saw Chickengirl had received this red robot illustration from Allan Sanders. I love super heros, I love robots and I love red, white and black artwork, so easy to guess - I had to get me one! I went to his blog and luckily saw his post about a Super Hero Giveaway and sent him an email asking if it was too late to get one. He was so nice and even included the red robot - score! I immediately framed both pieces and had them on my walls for the last few weeks. I might end up changing the frame on the Super Hero postcard, but I just had to have it up to see every day.

I love his illustrating and lettering style - very talented.

Thanks again, Allan! :)

Hand Turkey

I am sure everyone is busy cooking/baking away the last few days, I know I have been. Though I must admit, C does most of the cooking and I do the baking. It is pretty fun to go all out with making and eating food. This wonderful moments in life, remind me to be thankful of my full and fortunate life.

I am so thankful to have:
- a most adoring and understanding partner to share my life with.
- a family that I love, though we don't live close or talk everyday, we keep in touch often and understand when we can't.
- sweet, cuddly animals that love me unconditionally.
- long lasting friendships and reconnecting with lost friends (thanks, facebook!).
- a hope in a brighter future for the world.
- a place to share + grow as an artist (crafter, designer, etc) and meet new, inspiring people every day. I love it.

The list could go on, but time to spend the holiday with my sweetie, I'm sure you understand.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Rice Heat

I finally got myself to make this Rice Heat Therapy bag. I found the tutorial last winter and just never got around to making it. I am so glad I finally did. It got me sewing and I really do enjoy it, even though I always mess up a little bit. It feels soo good on my neck while I type this up! Oh and I have something to post about! :)

I did Plumeria essential oil for this bag, but I want to pick up some lavender oil for my next one. I didn't use any of my newer fabrics, this tutorial mostly called for scraps, but I got a few ideas.

Enjoy your weekend!

Goooorgeous Fabrics!

I am starting to feel the arts + crafts butterfly awaken in me.

We have a new fabric store that opened up and it has the greatest fabric - lots of modern designs - so inspiring! I love them all and I am going to come up with some projects to really show them off. Hopefully they are all successes and I will be able to share them. I am still learning, but I need to push passed the "fear of messing up" and just do it! Wish me luck! :)

I've been also taking this time to actually read the magazines I get - not just flipping through them - and I found this cool site, Top Bicycle and really would love to do something like this. I need to see if there are any cool similar vacations in the U.S.

A little planning...

goes a long way. Who doesn't love a good schedule? I know I prefer having our weekly meals figured out ahead of time, so I don't have to remember to figure it out moments before or find out we don't have an ingredient.

I printed these on 8.5 x 11 paper, front and back, then folded in half to be stapled into a booklet.

Off to fill in those boxes now!

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend.

Fishies

Hello!

A quick little illustration for tonight. The season change is really throwing me off a bit, as usual. I am hoping that my body will get used to it soon and I will start feeling inspired for personal projects. My day job has been tapping all my creative juices lately and I don't have much left when I sit down at my computer at night. But just like the seasons this little lull in after-work creativity will fade away and I will be back in the swing of things. Right?

Thanks for visiting:)

Horsin'

Wow, I didn't realize it had been so long since I had posted. Woops!

Well today flew by and I really don't know what I did. But I scanned this doodle in and colored it tonight. Now I am off to finish icing some cookies and watch an episode of Dexter.

I hope everyone is having a relaxing weekend.
